5th Annual G E Patterson
5k for Pre-k Walk/Run to Benefit Porter-Leath
SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 20, 2014
The 5K, which benefits Porter-Leath and is held in honor of the late Bishop Gilbert
Earl Patterson, supports family-focused, health-conscious initiatives that contribute
to strong, vibrant communities in Memphis and Shelby County. Proceeds from this year’s
race will benefit Porter-Leath’s Preschool scholarship program, which ensures children
are ready to learn from their first day of school and that parents are engaged participants
in their child's education. Porter-Leath’s Preschool program serves thousands of
children under age 5 each year through quality programming that is accredited by
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). There is no
tuition for participant families.
“We are thrilled that Bountiful Blessings has chosen to partner with Porter-Leath
again with its fifth annual 5K,” said Rob Hughes, development manager at Porter-Leath.
“Thanks to their continued support, we have been able to help many more children
succeed by building early development with social, physical and cognitive skills.”
